INTAN JAYA - The Raider Infantry Battalion 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad, is part of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command (KOOPS TNI) in Papua, which carries out mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Intan Jaya Regency area, Papua Tengah Province. On Thursday, 4 July 2024, the Patrol Team and Medical Team of the 509 Task Forces visited the Titigi Village, Sugapa District, and provided medical services during a security patrol.
On the orders of the 509 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, the Titigi Post led by First Lieutenant Erick Dakusa has planned and prepared a plan for patrol and medical services in the Titigi Village. The Medical personnel along with health equipment and medicines are included in the planning and preparation stages. The Titigi Village, which is a remote area and prone to possible interference by the Free Papua Organization (OPM), requires the attention of the TNI Task Forces, including in the health sector.

Therefore, when they saw the presence of the 509 Task Forces Soldiers in the Titigi Village, the residents welcomed them happily. The Medical Officer of the 509 Task Forces, First Lieutenant Doctor Hadi Widiyanto, who was part of the group, immediately took action by carrying out medical observation on several residents who admitted to having several illness symptoms. As an expression of gratitude, Mr. Matthew Mujizau, one of the residents who were observed, said, "Thank you, Pak Dokter Tentara (Mr. Army Doctor). I am happy to be examined and given medicines. God bless."
"The initiative of the 509 Task Forces to provide medical services in the Titigi Village, is a form of TNI concern in providing services for the basic needs of the community, as part of efforts to accelerate development in the Papua region, " said the KOOPS TNI Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, upon receiving the program report.
